5:30 – 6:30 AM: Hotel Pickup from Kathmandu
Your adventure begins early in the morning with a hotel pickup from Kathmandu. You’ll travel in a private vehicle or mini-bus with your rafting group and guide. During the drive, you’ll enjoy the scenic route along the Prithvi Highway, passing through green hills, riverside settlements, terraced farms, and small towns. The drive takes approximately 2–3 hours, and rural Nepal is visible during the drive. Tea breaks and snacks can be arranged en route if desired.
8:30 – 9:00 AM: Arrival at Trishuli River Launch Site
Upon your arrival at the river put-in point, your guides will brief you on the day's rafting adventure. This involves introduction to fundamental paddling techniques, river safety, rapid classification, as well as falling and recovery. Life jackets, helmets, and other gear that might be needed will be fitted. It is also the moment to pack cameras or waterproof bags for important items.
9:00 – 9:30 AM: Warm-Up and Launch into the River
After the briefing, your rafting journey begins. The first stretch of the river is usually calm, giving beginners a chance to practice paddling and get comfortable in the raft. You’ll drift past scenic riverbanks lined with forest, cliffs, and small villages, all while your guide points out local flora, fauna, and interesting cultural sights along the way.
9:30 – 12:00 PM: Navigation Through Class II–III Rapids
The climax of the rafting adventure is this segment. The Trishuli River offers a series of moderate rapids graded mainly as Class II–III:
12:00 – 12:30 PM: Riverside Break or Lunch Stop
The majority of full-day rafting tours include a riverside lunch break. You can enjoy packed meals or drinks while sitting on the riverbank and taking in the views of nearby hills and farmland. It is also a wonderful time to stretch out, swim in less crowded spots, or simply absorb the peaceful surroundings.
12:30 – 2:30 PM: Continue Rafting through Scenic Valleys
After lunch, you raft through additional mild rapids and peaceful sections. The river meanders through beautiful scenery, including green forests, small waterfalls, and characteristic Nepalese villages. The journey at this point typically includes photo stops and short breaks to explore around. Guides will also drill in river safety maneuvers and comment on local culture on the riverbanks.
2:30 – 3:30 PM: Final Rapids and End Point
The final section of the Trishuli River provides the concluding thrills, with Class II–III rapids leading to the finish. As you approach the finish, water becomes calmer, and you can have a smooth journey back to land. Guides at the finish cheer the successful rafting experience, and you can take team photos to celebrate the event.
3:30 – 6:00 PM: Return Drive to Kathmandu
After rafting, you’ll change into dry clothes and start the scenic drive back to Kathmandu. The journey offers more views of the countryside, including terraced fields, hills, and small riverside settlements. Depending on traffic and stops, you’ll reach Kathmandu in the early evening, completing a full day of adventure.
6:00 PM onwards: Drop-Off at Your Hotel
You will be returned to the hotel, exhausted but exhilarated after a day of complete rafting and exploration. This is the end of the Trishuli rafting adventure, with participants taking away memories, pictures, and stories to cherish for a lifetime.
