FAQs for Mount Kailash Spiritual Tour in Tibet – 12 Days

here are only guest houses available during the Mt.Kailash trek. And Yes, it’s Mandatory for Multiple beds in One room. And the toilet is outside. Because Mt.Kailash is still a remote place, and it’s also environmentally friendly, there’s no condition to build new, good accommodations there. So hope you could understand

But in Darchen town (the place before/after trekking), the accommodation there still has good rooms with private bathroom.

There’s no another option of the guest house with own toilet  same as Rougbuk hotel.

If group members indeed cannot accept the condition of the guest house during the trekking, we could choose to do trek Day one (from Darchen to Dirapuk Monastery) instead of 3 full days trekking, and stay back in Darchen. This could be an option.

Guests may choose horseback riding based on their preferences. The cost for horseback riding with horse keeper is approximately $120 USD per person per day (attached is the Mt.Kailash park's price list for your reference).

Additionally, should a guest become unable to continue during the trekking, they may call the park's emergency rescue vehicle (additional fee of approximately $150 USD per person). Our guides can assist with arrangements.

Perhaps in many mountain villages, you might feel that the costs aren't as high as in big cities. But in reality, from the perspective of tourism reception, their resources and hosting capacity actually fall short of those of larger cities. Because in relatively underdeveloped areas, resources are quite limited both in terms of manpower and material resources.

Overall, hospitality capacity is also constrained. Transportation costs and labor expenses (as most people prefer not to work in remote areas) inevitably drive up labor and transportation costs. Therefore, to ensure the quality of our tours, we implement rigorous quality control at every stage. This approach not only ensures customer satisfaction but also enables us to foster more sustainable, long-term partnerships with a broader client base.

In the meantime, tourism resources there are relatively scarce compared to major cities, leading to increased costs. During festive celebrations such as local cultural and religious events in Tibet, where pilgrims circumambulate of mt.kailash  in the Year of the Horse and lakes in the Year of the Sheep these attractions draw large numbers of pilgrims, causing resources to become even tighter than usual and costs to rise further. Appreciate your kind understanding of this.

Additionally, all official tour vehicles & tour guides are dispatched from Lhasa to the border, as no vehicles /guides are available at the border. The wages for drivers of vehicles & tour guides departing from Lhasa must be factored in. Appreciate your kind understanding.

Honestly, Saga primarily serves as a transit point for travelers heading to Mt.Kailash. It lacks distinctive cultural attractions and doesn't feature any villages suitable for extended visits (it's not a commercialized area). The residents are ordinary locals, and we can only find a random household along the way for a brief visit for our guests.
